What each attraction is like

Dubai Miracle Garden is mostly about looking and walking. You follow paths past flower beds, floral arches and large sculptures made from plants, and most people spend the visit taking photos. It suits couples, families, photographers and anyone who likes gardens.

Global Village is busier and more social. Different countries and regions have their own pavilions selling food, crafts and souvenirs, and there's usually live entertainment across the site. It suits food lovers, shoppers and families who want a relaxed evening.

When to go: the winter season

Both attractions open for the cooler months and close again before summer. The organisers set each season's opening and closing dates themselves, so we can't give fixed dates here. Before you build your trip around them, ask us to confirm both are open for your travel dates.

The cooler weather is the main reason to go in winter. Walking outdoors for a few hours is much more comfortable than in summer, and the evenings are pleasant for Global Village. Weekends and public holidays are usually the busiest days, so pick a weekday if you'd like it quieter.

Visiting both in one day

Our Miracle Garden Tour with Global Village Tour takes care of the planning for you. It includes pickup and drop-off from your hotel or home apartment, an air-conditioned 4x4 (Toyota Land Cruiser or Nissan Patrol), an entry ticket to Dubai Miracle Garden and an entry ticket to Global Village.

• Book at least a day ahead. Both combos close for bookings 24 hours before the activity starts.
• Go private for families or small groups. Both private options take up to 6 participants, and you get the vehicle to yourselves.
• Bring cash and a card for Global Village. Payment options can vary between stalls.
• Charge your phone. Both attractions are very photogenic, and you'll take more photos than you expect.
• Keep one evening free. If you're not going to Global Village, an evening desert safari or a dhow cruise is a good way to spend a winter night.
